Extended Profile

What do you (or organization) hope for in connection with a deep time perspective?

I was born in France and have lived in Spain since 2000. I’m a new Media Artist, Freelancer and Multimedia teacher focusing on mobile learning in the context of Big History. I would like to network with the Deep Time Journey Community with the goal of exchanging ideas and experiences with digital media, and understanding of our Earth’s history.

Short description of your (or organization's) current interest/work in an deep time perspective:

Pushing the creation of Mobile Learning tools oriented to the understanding of our universe from a artistic and creative perspective and based on the walk since 2010. See my website gpsmuseum.eu for more information. I am also open to new opportunities of collaboration as freelancer, offering solutions to new contexts into the community.

Background: Your bio if an individual, or description if an organization (Let us know who you are!):

I loved teaching at the University of Murcia (2011-2013) in Valencia, Spain. I’m a visiting professor for master degree classes while working on my PhD in “Walking Documentaries.” I am an Art Director and designer of Mobile Learning apps for the Big History network working on two innovative apps. I’m also a artist, co-founder of the Transnational Temps Art collective, mixing art, technology, ecology and activism. You will find a more detailed description of my work at gpsmuseum.eu/fredadam

Originally inspired to do this work by:

At the age of 6 an unusual experience happened to me under the influence of morphine during a medical treatment . “A very strange structure was spinning in front of my eyes, later I discovered that I was really looking, for the first time, at human skin through a microscope”. This triggered my lifelong interest in art, biology and cosmology.

Also inspired to do this work by:

Rich Blundell, Geoff Ainscow, David Mc. Conville, Neal Rogin, Larry Edwards, Lynn Margulis, Elisabet Sahtouris.

Favorite Quote Having to do With a Deep Time Evolutionary Perspective:

As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives. Henry David Thoreau
