What do you (or organization) hope for in connection with a deep time perspective?
I hope to raise awareness of a deep time perspective in the general public using powerful immersive media delivery systems including domes and virtual reality headsets. My company is partnered with an extended network of universities and non-profit organizations
Short description of your (or organization's) current interest/work in an deep time perspective:
We have been developing next-generation media delivery systems and related programming for planetariums, dome theaters, virtual reality headsets and more. As these new media platforms become increasingly widespread, our goal is to have in place immersive media programming that provides the public with actual simulated experiences of deep time perspectives.
Background: Your bio if an individual, or description if an organization (Let us know who you are!):
Ed Lantz is an entertainment technology engineer and immersive experience designer. He left aerospace engineering in 1990 to transform old-style planetariums into immersive visualization environments, designing over a dozen dome theaters worldwide including the Library of Alexandria’s Planetarium in Egypt, Domodigital at Papalote Museo del Niño in Mexico City, and the National Space Centre planetarium in Leicester, UK. Digital domes are sometimes referred to as “cathedrals of the future.”
What are you (or organization) looking for from the Network?
Welcoming storytellers, filmmakers, artists and financiers who want to make a difference in the world.
What do you (or organization) bring to the Network?
I am a scientific thinker who builds bridges between the domains of science, intuition and subjective phenomenology. I can assist with the philosophical framing of deep time perspectives to ensure consistency with mainstream scientific thinking without diluting the philosophical power of these concepts.

Favorite Quote Having to do With a Deep Time Evolutionary Perspective:
I cannot imagine the future, but I care about it. I know I am a part of a story that starts long before I can remember and continues long beyond when anyone will remember me. I sense that I am alive at a time of important change, and I feel a responsibility to make sure that the change comes out well. I plant my acorns knowing that I will never live to harvest the oaks.
I have hope for the future.
